FERTILITY TREATMENTS AND PROCEDURES

Our reproductive medicine and infertility team includes board certified physicians, embryologists and nurses who have many years of specialized experience.

IUI

Intrauterine insemination is offered as a solution for unexplained infertility, cervical problems in the female, immunological factors, ejaculation disorders, endometriosis, and cases of slightly decreased male fertility.

IVF

IVF treatment is offered as a solution for fertility problems experienced by both men and women. In IVF, the female's eggs are fertilised with the male's sperm in a laboratory to create an embryo. The embryo is later transferred to the uterus of the female and after some time, she is tested for pregnancy.

ICSI

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection is a type of IVF treatment used to address severe cases of male-factor infertility. It involves the use of spcialised micro-manipulation tools and equipment that allow embryologists to identify and remove individual sperm with a special needle.

Assisted Laser Hatching

Assisted laser hatching is a scientific technique used in IVF that enhances the embryo's ability to implant inside the uterus. The laser reduces the thickness of the shell so the embryonic cells can hatch out. Pregnancy is achieved only when the embryo hatches.

PGS

Pre-implantation Genetic Screening (PGS) can be used for patients who have experienced several pregnancy losses or infertility. In PGS, embryos are screened for aneuploidy (missing or additional numbers of chromosomes), which is the principal cause of miscarriage and implantation failure.

Fertility Preservation

This is recommended for couples who choose to delay parenting due to their careers or before a medical treatment (such as cancer treatment) or who experience certain autoimmune disorders or any reason that could have a negative impact on their eggs or sperm. Fertility preservation is the preservation of the eggs and/or sperm for use at a later date.

  •   Sperm Freezing
  •   Embryo Freezing
IVF with Donor Eggs

IVF with donor eggs is offered as a solution for women who are unable to produce eggs viable for fertilisation. Eggs are provided instead by an anonymous egg donor and once fertilised, the resulting embryo is implanted in the female partner to achieve pregnancy.

IVF with Donor Sperm

IVF with donor sperm is offered as a solution in cases where the male partner is unable to produce the viable sperm needed for the couple to conceive due to medical reasons, or when the semen analysis is poor.

IVF with Donor Embryo

IVF with donor embryos may be recommended in cases where the embryos created with the recipient's eggs and the recipient's sperm are not capable of achieving a healthy pregnancy. In this case, embryos created from a female donor's eggs and a male donor's sperm are used to help the couple achieve pregnancy.

PGD

Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) is a procedure used prior to implantation to help identify genetic defects within embryos. This serves to prevent certain genetic diseases or disorders from being passed on to the child. The embryos used in PGD are usually created during the process of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
